Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We went out with a couple of friends last night and we were taken to Dosa World, on Hanbury Street, 20 yards off Brick Lane. http://www.dosa-world.com/

It has been a while since I have had a new curry experience, but this place was great. Dosa's are rice and lentil pancakes typically rooten in Southern Indian cuisine. I had a plain potato (filled) Dosa with an Erachy Ulathiyathu curry ('lamb cooked in a ways as never seen before presented dry deliciously spiced with peppers, coriander & chilly'). Excellent.

If you are looking for something slightly different try this place out. Small, quiet and good value!

Hi,

Yes it a great little haunt and the dosas are good. Does anyone know of places like this in Haringey? Nearest place I know is Rasa
in Stoke Newington Church St which is alcohol friendly as opposed to the former.

Note that as they are South Indian, both places have excellent vegan menus.

I had a good masala dosa in Jai Shri Krishna in Turnpike Lane a few years ago but haven't been back recently. Maybe not Rasa standard though, but v friendly.

Chennai express at the High Road end of West Green Road. More basic than Rasa but good food. Pretty sure it's BYOB, they may sell a few beers as well.

I wen there a couple of months ago and was glad I had my coat- especially when I used the outdoor toilet. Great food though!
