Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Boiler gurgling, with intermittent sounds akin to a spitfire plane. Need a boiler repairman. Any suggestions?

Yes, another recommendation for A&P, whom I’ve used for decades, starting when they were based on Green Lanes, in Harringay; reliable and reasonably-priced.

I've also used A&P for probably a decade or more. Always helpful and felt pricing was pretty reasonable as well.

They used to.
However, I would not recommend them now. My last experience with them was not good at all: they were unprofessional and did some shoddy work: cut perfect floorboards in wrong places to remove lead pipes and made unnecessary holes, which were not covered/repaired. Several areas in my kitchen and other rooms were ruined as a result. They did not inspect the work after it was completed and after I complained, they left wirewool with my contractor to do the job for them (without my agreement).
They sourced and installed for me a new boiler which they advised me to choose. However, they could not even program it to set times. After they promised to investigate with the manufacturer, I never heard back. I have never been able to set the boiler to timer.
Sad to say but I would not bother.

Lu — Are you sure this is A&P? My experience is the complete opposite; regular annual services and two new boilers (in different premises) installed — one in the pandemic — with minimal fuss or disruption, and certainly no failure to explain, and programme, the controls. Your tale sounds very unlike my experience over at least two decades. (There is a confusingly similarly named company —AP Gas — in Leyton or thereabouts; the ones I use are now in Enfield.)

Have you checked the water level ? There's usually a dial on the front of the boiler. It may just need a top up.

Aye the pressure keeps going down admittedly, though no evidence of leaking. Saying that, this issue does occur even at 1bar.

I did, but that person seems to no longer operate in the area, as I've attempted to contact them on multiple occasions with no success.
