Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Air pollution - wc 27 Apr - N4 - The ladder and gardens should not be an exhaust pipe!

This week, it has been both heartening and deeply saddening to stand alongside so many fellow residents — from the Ladder to the Gardens — united in expressing our frustration and fear over dangerously high air pollution levels.

Only by coming together can we say: enough is enough.

It’s time to invest in the community and take responsibility for making our air safer.

The facts are alarming:
• 100% of recorded days exceeded WHO annual air pollution guidelines
• PM2.5 reached 33 at 3pm today
• PM2.5 surged to 84 by 7:55pm

These are not just numbers — they represent a serious threat to our health, our families, and our future.

Enough is enough.
People over profit.

This is so alarming to read. Labour's response to solving the Ladder's traffic and pollution issues while the other side of Green Lanes enjoys the benefits of LTNs has been to shrug and say calming measures can't be introduced equitably, so the Ladder will just have to cope. Another reason why I'll be voting Green this time.

I know I’m not the only one who really appreciates the work you are putting into this Alice.  The data you have produced consistently shows the peaks in pollution occur from the period restaurants start firing up their grills in the late afternoon to when they go off in the late evening.  Other boroughs have taken the matter seriously and tackled it - why not Haringey?
