Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There has been a bit of support for taking photos of rubbish left on The Ladder streets on one day in the summer - Sunday 9 July. The idea is that all the photos are posted on this discussion, one post per street with pics, and then forwarded to the Cabinet Member for Environment.

It not a major undertaking, just up one side of the street and down the other, not forgetting the bits at the tops and bottoms of the road on Green Lanes and Wightman.

So far we have the following rubbish photographers

Justin Guest - Pemberton
Kotkas - Mattison and Duckett
Me - Warham, Seymour, Allison and Beresford (and Lausanne if my legs hold out)
Els - Sydney and Raleigh
Osbawn - Avondale
John D - Hampden and Frobisher
DS - Fairfax and Falkland
Hugh - Hewitt
ThaiDi -Hermitage
GraemeTP - Effingham
Gordon T - Cavendish and all points south

Raleigh Road pretty clear, a few of these might "take me home" offerings but they're unlabelled and one is just a drawer.

Just lots of bits of litter on Sydney Road so far, but passageway between Sydney Road and Turnpike Lane full of smashed glass as well as cans/bottles (as usual during the weekend).

This is one small section of Mattison, all photos taken at approx 2.30 on my way to Baldwins. This section of Mattison road is always a disaster area. Needless to say, this will be there as children make their way to school tomorrow

How did you embed pictures like that Liz?

By 8.45am this morning those rubbish bags were strewn all over the road and pavement.  I was late so didn't have time to take photos but it was truly disgusting even by Mattison Road standards.  And the smell was eye-watering.  I do wonder if there just shouldn't be a large bin left on these corners.  At least the rubbish would be contained and not at the mercy of foxes.  I know it's not ideal to have bins out on the pavement but  wouldn't it be better than this?

The HoL platform is currently showing no page numbers on the final page of any forum post. To go back to the first page, delete any characters in the url after the post title. That's usually signifies with a question mark. IN the example below I deleted everything highlighted in blue.

I think Gordon T is photographing our patch but I took a couple of photos this morning before my phone battery died - so much litter on the first 100 yds of the street it made me feel depressed. The places where rubbish is usually dumped were clear, but there were things strewn over the street like a pair of shoes and several squashed half-eaten chicken dinners. It's never been great down here, but I was shocked by the sheer amount.

Hampden.

Lausanne

Willoughby

Mattison Road and Duckett Road. See the geographic density of crap everywhere.. I include a selection of a few particularly bad examples. And that's just 2 roads.
