Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I discovered today that Blend are now running the cafe at Woodberry Wetlands - from their Twitter account it seems that they started on Wednesday:

I appreciate this, it's a great cafe, great coffee and great food but the staff should never be rude, even if it is supposed to be their day off! It's not too much to ask to just be spoken to politely, whether comparing to a lizzy's or not.

I'm really surprised by this - I have been there on a number of occasions and found the staff to be friendly above and beyond what you'd expect, making an effort to get to know customers, taking an interest and generally being cheerful. It really does sound like someone having an off day to me.

Hi AKD, of course! I'm not sure if you saw my response directly to your comment, but would you kindly be able to take the time to PM or email me (info@localblend.co.uk) with details of what happened and when? I would really like to investigate. Many thanks in advance! Linda
Hi, yes of course. Happily, there have been a couple of occasions, it's the same rude man, he's been so rude to me and my husband on separate occasions that we genuinely are put off going there and had a proper chat about how disappointing it was. I will email you Linda.

i can't commetn on Blend versus the previous people running it, but I've always thought the main problem with the cafe is capacity and the nature of the building - no-one wants the nature reserve overwhelmed by the cafe, but there could be a rethink of the external seating and inside there's very little space.

plus when i went there (before Blend took over), it was very noisy inside with music etc, and noisy staff, which seemed a bit odd in a nature reserve.

i wonder if there is or could be an upstairs area in that building which could in theory house the kitchen or further seating.

also i'd consider opening out the front of the cafe by replacing a lot of the wall (whilst keeping it structurally sound of course) with glass doors
