If you're a student away at University you can apply to get a postal vote sent to you at University.
In fact you can register to vote in both places - wherever your University is, as well as at home.
It's illegal to vote in the same type of election (e.g. general) in two locations but a £5,000 fine is peanuts compared to your student loan debt...

Students can also register to vote where they are living on June 8. There's still time to register their term time address. Useful if it's a marginal. Pointless until we get PR!

Yes students can register in two places and choose where to cast their vote - would be better if we had PR but students can vote more tactically than most.
