Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Fairlands ASBO den
Someone has boarded up the ASBO den in the Falkland/Fairfax Open Space... was it Haringey Council or the action of a concerned citizen?
For those who don't know this area, there is a children's slide in the patch of park now called Fairlands. Some members of the community, wishing to use the space under the slide for drinking strong lager, had moved one of the picnic tables underneath to make a den in which to pass their afternoons.
Last night someone boarded up the hole! I wonder if anyone is still inside? Perhaps, come signing on day, we will hear some shouting from under there?
Whatever. I'm glad this has been done.

Well, two blokes pulled the wood off today. I think that's a shame because the drinkers will just come back again.

They had no council "livery" of any type. Two blokes and a van, into which they chucked the wood...

The Haringey Parks Department told me that the wood was taken down because of Health and Safety reasons! One option is to remove the slide - this will be discussed at the Fairland Park Working Group meeting tomorrow night
