Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello all,

I live on Endymion Road and am so tired of cars charging up & down the road way beyond the 20m/h limit.

Any advice how to get a petition started to put speed bumps on the road? There are some many people, including adults with kids that they using the 1 crossing & sometimes at the mercy of way too many reckless speeding.

Thanks

Shameema

Councillor email addresses are on the web. Could contact living Wightman campaign in Facebook. Use twitter. All might have an effect! Good luck.
We also need proper traffic lights instead of the zebra crossing. We have asked the councillors but sadly they don't give a f**K. Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Was it quieter when Wightman Rd was closed?

You're joking surely. You don't remember what Endymion Road was like during the Wight man Road closure? Suffice it to say speeding was not an issue. Moving was an issue.

I remember that it was a lot clearer than it is now actually but I'm wondering if that's correct so asking.

You're like this in real life too aren't you?

On occasionans clearer and on others extremely busy.
I don't know what the result of the trial was but??.........

They will be perpetually red on Endymion Rd. Want!
Isn't that the point?
Till drivers learn.
I guess so. It's a great idea.

Speed bumps are a very harsh speed reducing measure and they are often totally ignored by 'white van man' and others who don't own their own vans and utility vehicles. If you live directly adjacent to a speed bump/cushion you can expect to get loads of rumbling vibrations from heavier vehicles. It can affect old period houses with shallow foundations.

Be careful what you ask for!

There is at least one speed hump missing from the top of Frobisher Rd (yes I've hassled councillors about this) and the speeds that vehicles can get to past the entrance to the infant school are eye watering. Yes it's awful living next to a speed hump but sadly, people won't restrain themselves without them.
