Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Strangely Harringay's first dumped Christmas tree was spotted on Pemberton Road on 23rd December.

For the majority of us who dispose of their trees after Christmas, Haringey Council offer three disposal options:

1. Collection

2, Recycling Centre

3. Parks drop-off

For those of us who live on estates and don't have cars, there's only the parks drop off option.  Last year it took a phone call to Veolia, who didn't know but found out for me, to find out that the drop off point in Downhills Park is inside the Downhills Park Road entrance.

And yes, did you know that if you don't have a car it's very difficult to recycle any of the things you can't put in your domestic collection?  This is because you have to have a personal pollution generator to gain access to one of the council's recycling centres.

Update! I took my Christmas tree across to Downhills Park today, was just inside the West Green entrance when I was intercepted by a parks warden with a cage truck.  He said he could take my tree and it was ok to leave trees anywhere in the park.
