Does anyone else share my disappointment that the secure bike cage at Finsbury Park is closing at the end of March 2017? Or at least, Sekura-byk's contract with TfL to run it is terminating.
The bloke in the office there thought it might become a Santander bike park ('Sadiq cycles'?) or maybe one of those multi-layered affairs that you can see in places like Copenhagen (Euston Station is an example of one I've used). I've called TfL to try to find out what their plans might be for the space post March and they're supposed to be getting back to me.
If anyone in HoL land knows any more, I'd be interested. And also, if nothing is planned I'd be up for a bit of lobbying to at least retain a covered area with standard bike stands where you can lock up before getting on the tube or train.
Or, I could just walk to Finsbury Park station..... But I suspect others may cycle from further away.

The space could well be earmarked for the electric bike hire scheme, scheduled to launch in the borough next spring. Clearly sufficient space for standard bike parking needs to be retained - preferably under cover and free at point of use.
How can we find out what the plan is? Who can we write to? I had heard it was possibly being turned into flats.
That whole run from the railway bridge abutment eastbound to Seven Sisters Road corner is a flats-above/retail-below redevelopment. Only the Twelve Pins pub would remain. The land is in Haringey, not Islington.
Here's a newspaper report from 2013 with a picture:

It looks like the cycle park has been refurbished and has just re-opened, operated by CycleHoop for TFL. Details here:

I still have a card for Sekurabyk with some credit on it, I hope there's a way to exchange it and get the £5 deposit back as I wasn't aware that the contract had finished until I saw this tweet from TFL yesterday. Anyway, I'm going to give them a ring on Tuesday and find out.
The new store looks good tho', and has dedicated parking for cargobikes.
