I look forward eagerly to your suggestions and anything you think I might have missed off the list!
Thank you sooooooo much x

Heartily recommend http://www.katantosovaphotography.com/ (disclaimer - she's my wife) for your photography. Works extremely hard and provides a wonderful personal service. And her work is exceptional.

We used a very cool, well priced, and quick online company for our stationery - https://www.weddingpaperdivas.com

Good luck with all your planning!

You're right! Her work looks beautiful. I have sent her an email, fingers crossed I can afford her!!!

Yes, congratulations! Our elder daughter married last October and they had the council chamber at Islington Town Hall - it's a really lovely horseshoe shaped room and the registrar was really enthusistic.  They do tours most Saturday morning so you can check it out and the other, smaller, rooms in the town hall.  If you marry on Friday (as our daughter did) it is much cheaper than a Saturday.  They then had their reception at the nearby Drapers Arms pub restaurant which we would also recommend strongly.  They took over the whole pub, upstairs and ground floor, from about 2 pm until 11.30 when you have to leave and we had canapes and prosecco, a sit down meal, dancing etc etc - and as it is a pub, if anyone wants a drink you aren't offering, they have everything there!  There are also sitting out areas and games for any children and it is a short walk from Upper Street.

Have fun!

Hi Emma,

Congratulations! I loved planning my wedding and must admit I am slightly jealous of you getting to go through it all! I have been to a few London weddings and one of my favourites was at Clissold House in Clissold Park. It was a beautiful winter's day and they got some lovely pics outside. We went to The Londesbury in Stokey for the reception and the food was fantastic! My friend and I did the flowers ourselves using flowers ordered from the Triangle Nursery. My friend is also getting herself going as a wedding florist, her instagram is @arboretumblooms if you want to get in touch and have a look at her work. She's based in Worcester but happy to travel.

For hair and makeup try Victoria Penrose, she's on instagram as @victoriapenrosemakeup.

My friend Madeline made my dress and was brilliant - I presented her with a charity shop dress and some lace and we went from there. I was thrilled with the result. She's on instagram as @madelinedresses.

Enjoy!

I love all these ideas, I really want to try and be DIY too so thank you so much for the tips! I will enjoy looking up all your suggestions! P.S What did you do in terms of photography?

Great! I have a work friend who did our photos for us, which was very kind :) I know of a North London based photographer called Lucy Williams, her work looks lovely if you want to have a look:

Also band-wise, we have some fantastically talented friends who are in a wedding band called The Big Beat and we were lucky enough to have them play our wedding - they are North Wales based and don't come cheap but they were unbelievably good and may travel!
