I went for the video option to get the full sound effects...!
You might be able to recognise Matt, John and Adam at the end of the platform towards the end.... (though you might need to click on the video and choose the 'higher quality' version on the youtube site in order to see them more clearly)

great work AJ as ever!
Thanks to everyone that provided photos and video of this. For a poor little trainspotter like me laid up at home with a sore throat, these were a treat.
Thanks Alistair.. I just took a look on google and you're right of course.. I should have looked before writing. - What surprises me is that the area doesn't looked used at all.. and as others have said.. kids (both large and small) are still interested in trains.. what a shame.. Also the area behind that's now used to store refuse? used to be tennis courts..
What I remember was so special about the platform was that trains passed by at speed northbound, although the southbound expresses were already slowing down for KX, because from here it was downhill all the way..
It was fitted out with a KX timetable board and a notice 'Trains pass here 5 minutes after leaving KX'.
A HoL team effort on this one. If Adam hadn't posted the story we would never have known about the train passing so close to home. I'm really glad we got to see it.
