New Box junctions in Green Lanes Harringay
The new box junctions serve a useful purpose for those wishing to access or leave a street on the Ladder.
however, a note of caution. They are being constantly monitored on camera "in real time".
If any part of your vehicle is stationary on the box you will be fined. The old box junction at the bottom of Warham Road nets (I am told) £350,000 a year.
When cycling the other day I saw three infringements in a space of minutes. Important to treat these restrictions with respect.

Your car must be in motion - also why stop in a box junction if you are clear to move forward?

I've written about how to drive in box junctions, including a useful video by TfL (despite the unrealistically low traffic).
Best be very sure before you enter that you won't get stuck and then be stuck with a £130 penalty.

These box junctions have made it more difficult to exit a ladder road turning right onto Green Lanes. I never had any problem before just inching forward and on the whole other drivers gave way.
Part of the problem is that only half the road is covered with the yellow hatching (the west side).
1. coming out of a ladder road when the traffic is solid going north the area of the actual box junction on the west side of the road will be kept clear, but the traffic going south on the east side of the road may be moving fast, so it is not possible to get a clear view without stopping in the junction until it is safe and waiting for a gap.
2. if the traffic going south on the east side is completely solid then there never is a gap to move straight into without moving into the box and stopping.
Will I get a raft of tickets? I am aware that you are exempt if you are going forward and you need to stop to turn right but how about entering the box from a side road and needing to stop and wait in the middle in order to be able to view the traffic before turning right?

No, you're turning right. You can be stationary in a box junction if you're turning right.
