Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have you been visited by a candidate or one of their representatives? Had election-related material posted through your door (if so, please scan a copy)? Are you planning to vote on local or national issues? I don't live in the ward so I don't know the level of activity by the candidates/parties. Just curious. And a bit of an elections geek.

Had leaflets from Labour and LibDems and a visit from the Greens

Leaflet and visit from Greens and Labour - plus a phone message from Labour, not sure how they got my number.

A few days ago a person from UKIP turned up at the door asking if I would be willing to nominate (?) their candidate.

I will be voting on local issues.

Just to add to my previous post, I have now looked properly at the 2 flyers I've had and although I don't have a scanner I would summarise them as follows:-

Labour: 5 bullet points , a very small flyer, all very relevant to local issues but no detail as to how these will be addressed and very little detail re the candidate. Contact details and date of election provided. Too little info imo. No specific mention of WR and issues.

Greens: 2 sides of A4, more detail about the candidate,  example of previous initiatives by the party as a whole on local issues. Date of election provided but no contact details.  Vague reference to WR.  Rather waffley imo.

Just to even up the balance in this thread I'd like to quote Zena: "Housing was, and remains the biggest issue, and as a councillor I advocated and fought successfully for the strongest enforcement against slum landlords, including landlord licensing schemes; winning a £300,000 increase in the budget. I got a notorious HMO closed down, and others monitored, regulated and, where necessary, prosecuted. Having grown up in a Council flat in Stamford Hill I believe firmly in public housing, and in Council tenants retaining their full secure tenancies whatever regeneration plans are being proposed. I worked successfully with local residents to curtail licensing abuses, tackle environmental and other problems and to open the first ‘play street’ in Haringey."

Oh yeah, because James delivered so much eh?

Green Party contact details, for Jarelle the candidate:
jarelle.francis@greenparty.org.uk (is on the leaflet, we are keen for direct contact)
twitter.com/francisjarelle

Haringey Green Party more broadly:
haringey.greenparty.org.uk
twitter.com/HaringeyGreens
fb.com/HaringeyGreens

I was delighted to meet with Natalie Bennett, the Green Party Leader on Saturday, together with Jarelle our Green Candidate. Jarelle is a smart and warm individual, the other two candidates have had their chance, it's time for a fresh approach to politics in Harringay, not looking back. Jarelle is gaining important political support for Harringay issues.
Councilors won't have any control over national issues, it's a ward Councilor we're electing, but councilors have been known to leave for better offers, that's why we're in this position. I went to our ward Councilors surgery to discuss a problem a local resident was experiencing, no one was there it would normally be James Ryan's surgery, very dissapointed.
