Local Harringay ward Councillor James Ryan has resigned. There will be a selection meeting by the Labour Party followed by a far more perfunctory by-election.
Zena Brabazon!!!! Please stand in our ward!
Local Labour Party members, please select Zena!
More details here and here. Expect Council Leader Claire Kober to have an alternative candidate in mind.

In May 1978 and again in 1982 I gladly voted for Jeremy Corbyn to represent our Ward. I remember Ron Blanchard was one of his Labour colleagues on the second occasion. That was a time when Haringey & Harringay ( formerly Hornsey South) Labour councillors could hold their heads up high. If Jeremy should find himself at a bit of a loose end over the next few days or weeks, I'm sure we would welcome him back to stand in Harringay Ward. Meanwhile, as John M suggests above, perhaps our overseas representative on the Irish President's Council of State could encourage her progeny to spread the dynasty somewhere east of Harringay.
Strong list of candidates coming through which is a sign of a healthy democracy, at least at the grassroots level. Things at the top seem to be imploding right now!
I'm not allowed to be a member of the Labour Party. They even get the police onto me if I whistle blow.
Matt, most of the candidates are just there because they want to be on the "can be a councillor" list. Gareth, Nora and Zena are the only ones I know are serious.
Got mine too, but strangely Rosie and Henry didn't! Got to chase that so get our full 4 vote quota in hand!!
