Turnpike Lane and Manor House Stations opened on 19 September 1932, along with the first section of the Cockfosters Extension. I think the extension was built in record time from late 1929 until 1932, providing work for unemployed building workers.. (sounds familiar doesn't it?)
Indeed it does! High speed rail anyone? And why we're at it, slimming down parliament wouldn't go amiss to save costs. Let's move them to an industrial estate near Heathrow and convert the Houses of P into a hotel/swimming pool/restaurants/jobseekers plus branch/ apprenticeship training centre.
