Has anyone lost a beautiful white and tabby cat with a purple collar

Hi,

I live on Oakfield Road and for the last couple of days we have been having a beautiful visitor outside our front door crying to come in. It is a beautiful and very friendly white and tabby cat who looks very loved and has a purple collar. We can't work out whether he is just very friendly or if he is a bit lost.

For the last couple of days we have found him at our front door meowing quite persistently quite a few times in the day.

We are more than happy to give him lots of cuddles from time to time from outside our front door but just want to check if actually he is a little lost and anyone is looking for him.

Thanks

Anna

Well done Anna for posting about the cat. If you can, attach a close up photo of the cat's face. Hopefully someone will recognise him. Maybe the owner is away or the cat is lost. It's always a worry if a cat is out the front, due to the danger of the road. Maybe he's got out the front by mistake, and doesn't know how to get home.
You could attach a little note to the cat's collar to see if any owner calls you. (Animal rescue charities advise cat owners to get cats microchipped, neutered and have a cat flap and keep cats safe inside at night as that reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured).
If no owner contacts you or no neighbours recognise the cat, you could take him to a vets to be scanned to see if microchipped. A vet will also confirm whether the cat needs neutering, as neutering is vital before letting a cat outside. Animal Search is useful for registering details of a lost or found cat. Stokey Cats and Dogs have useful tips on their website and are a good source of local help in respect of lost and found pets.

Here is a photo of the loveky cat. A few of us neighbours have knocked on each other's doors to ask who she/he belongs to as she is really crying outside all of the houses. I will see if I can get her to the vets to see if she has a micro-chip.

I saw a note yesterday on top of a telephone exchange box, it was at the top part of Oakfield Road on the right hand side as you walk up.

Someone on Mount View Road is missing a cat.

Good luck getting her home
