Having closely monitored the impact of the road closures on Wightman Road N$ / N8 over the past week, and having regard to the feedback from those residents most affected by the closures - Crouch End and Muswell Hill - the Assessment (Roadways ) Supervision Executive have decided that the closures were unnecessary and, frankly, ill-thought out.
It is felt that the Council / Network Rail can rely on the good sense, courtesy , innate fairness and public-spirited attitude of motorists as they travel through the Harringay area and that they can be trusted to act intelligently and responsibly in order to mitigate traffic congestion arising from the closure of the Alroy Road bridge.
Accordingly, all road closures will be lifted as from 8 am tomorrow morning ( 1/4/16 ) and traffic may flow on Wightman Road without further let or hindrance.

Thanks for the update John. I think on this occasion, it's evidence of the responsiveness of the Council.
Well quite right too. What a disgraceful fiasco it's all been. Harumph, grr and tsk-tsk to it all. Someone should buy that Lapri chap a good stiff drink. Stout fellow indeed!
The date of the post says it all
Thank goodness, as it turns out my guru says Wightman road is *the most important road in London* and no one should be denied the opportunity to drive on it at all times day and night from wherever you are in London. Never has there been such a fair pathway towards the enlightenment of the towers of the Green Wood...
