Like who? I haven't seen any posts from gleeful cyclists on here. In any event I am a cyclist and fear Green Lanes (which I cycle daily coming home from work) has just got a whole lot more challenging...

There are a few if you go through this and the other threads on the subject. Someone declared it brilliant and expressed a wish for it to be permanent for example...

Can you use Wightman instead of Green Lanes for a while?

But you won't have to cycle Green Lanes will you. Because you now have the option to cycle as if you lived in Amsterdam? Just take the Wightman Road parallel route! How is that challenging? And yes I would agree with PhoebeMac people do appear to be rather gleeful.

Depends on the size of the gaps between the blocks. Anyway, I don't live on, or just off, Wightman Road. Which is why I don't cycle on it now.

As for making it permanent, people can ask for that if they want - I don't think that in itself is gloating.

If you really do need to drive though I can see how this will be a nightmare for you.
Ah - didn't see the bit about fatties. Sounds like someone with far too much time on his / her hands.
May I ask where the school is?

That is not the sort of information that I would give on a community website. And Im not sure that it really make a difference. Im quite capable of working out plans for alternative routes in case you were thinking to offer any advice?  In any case, I've already stated its in the muswell hill area which as anyone who knows the local geography will understand makes life rather challenging!

I don't think it'll last. I think there's going to be too much push back from Crouch End etc and the closures will be amended in some way. I sort of hope I'm wrong.
I think you'll find that Amsterdam is considerably flatter than Wightman Road.

Note that I said flatter, not fatter

I was trying to get an idea of how difficult it would be for you not to be able to drive along the road. I thought that was the idea of the forum. As for not giving out that information, you have already done so.

Muswell Hill may not realise is a rather large area containing many schools and my impression was that you wanted a more specific location which I am not prepared to give on a community website. Why you're making such an issue of it I don't know. But there it is. You're beginning to come across like a troll.
