I hang mine on the inside of my door because a) I want the benefit of it & b) I'm suspicious, although I haven't heard of this happening before to be fair.

So sorry to hear this on your 1st Xmas in Harringay. This 'behaviour' could happen almost anywhere so don't let it shape your impression of what is a truly great and diverse place to live - full of great people.

I have mine secured to my door knocker with a cable tie. I live on an estate where my front door opens out on to the estate (no front yard). It's been fine so far!

My first Christmas here too as last year I was in NZ for Christmas. Merry Christmas!
