Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

I thought this forum would be a good place to possibly branch out and meet some people/do some networking!

Noel Park is one of the 150 areas identified by the Big Local Trust to receive £1m over 10 years, to "improve the lives of local residents". I've started recently as the Coordinator, working with a group of local residents to create real lasting sustainable changes in our community.

I'm keen to meet more people from the Noel Park area, plus network with any other community organisations throughout the borough who might be interested in working in partnership.

We are aiming to deliver a wide range of activities and opportunities for local people over the next decade, and are always keen to find more people from within the local area to get involved! You can find the map identifying the Noel Park area in the Plan document below, along with loads of info on our plans!

This is our website http://www.noelparkbiglocal.co.uk/

Our plan for the area is here http://www.noelparkbiglocal.co.uk/plan

It's a really exciting project, so if anything I've said here has piqued your interest please get in touch!

I think noepark.net was also set up under the auspices of the Big Local plan, no?

Hi Hugh. Noel Park Net was indeed set up by one of the partnership members. Often many of the actions within a Big Local area are taken by individuals and/or groups from within the area, with the support of the Big Local partnership.

Hi:

I'm the one who set up NoelParknet.com It's not a Big Local project--I started it before Big Local did anything in the area--but I am a member of the partnership.

Gus, as Hugh suggests, Noelparknet.com is a more appropriate place to post this. Many of the discussion threads on Noel Park net mention Big Local, usually in the context of what it "should be" or what it "is not" doing, so a similar post to the one you've posted here would probably be welcome.

I was alerted to this conversation by a Noel Park resident who assumed you were bypassing Noel Park resident by posting here.

I forgot to addd: I know you're not bypassing Noel Park residents but that perception is there. Addressing the direct community first, before branching out could be a good way to combat that.

BTW, any Noel Park residents on here are most welcome to join noelparknet.com!
