Labour makes some great points about the threatened return of a major event in a public park. These are their key ones:
“We have had a steady stream of emails from local residents opposing this event very strongly and claiming that they have not had any response from the Leader of the Council. The council has also not said how it would spend the revenue from the event, so residents cannot put up with this amount of disruption to their local park if they cannot see any benefit.”

It's quite obvious why they do so well in London. Clive makes the point well very.. nearly every day.
Karen, I don't doubt you've never been deceitful, never lied and never hoodwinked local residents and I don't really get too exercised about Labour -v- Liberal BUT the Liberals WERE deceitful in their leafleting in the last election - as per here http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/hornsey-wood-green-elec... and Clive's post seemed (to me) to be more of the same...
Mr. Hole
Are you related to the William Hoyle who stood as a Conservative Party candidate in the 2010 local election in Tottenham?
If so, do you think that if that were made clear, your comments might then be viewed differently?
Do you not think you should declare your affiliation, as I am obliged to do?
Your remarks are no more than mischievous.
No?

I deliberated constructed my post for sole purpose of interesting people enough to carefully read the link to a Labour Party website that would otherwise not be read.
Any misleading would have lasted perhaps 15 seconds. Anyone in effect claiming to have been misled for longer either has issues with English comprehension or is being intellectually dishonest.
Although I'm pleased that my summary of the Labour Party post attracted attention, I'm disappointed that no one has yet engaged with the substantive issue of policy policy about major events in public parks, something that the Labour Party post set out.
Alex, Eugene & Michael (below): surely what's sauce for the Battersea gander is also sauce for the Haringey/Harringay geese? Or is your point that the electorate of Haringey, Harringay and Highgate is/are so damn illiterate that they do not understand Clive's clear link to the full article on the Labour Party website? Eugene seems to confirm this by reaching for an online dictionary-thesaurus to define the simplest of words. Even if Clive hadn't included that link, the extract from the article is obviously meant to tease the brain of even the most half-brained Hol reader. Some brains seem to need more teasing.
Thanks Michael. Now I really do claim coed. Too much co-education in Labour led Haringey has caused endless distraction leading to rampant illiteracy on this site.
