Making the loft a user friendly space
Has anyone got any good leads who to use to put some velux windows and board up my loft so it's a slightly more pleasant domain ?

I used The Loft Boys who do all the things you're after. I only had them fit an enlarged loft access hatch, a drop down ladder and lighting. They were easily the best quote I got for that. Very pleased with the work

Seconding the loft boys, had boarding, a velux window and ladder done along with lighting and a power socket. The quality of the work was great and they were very professional.

FPR - a bit of a word of caution about boarding. I was originally going to have this done but when Loft Boys had a look under the insulation in the loft they could see the bedroom ceiling below was still the original lathe and plaster job. They were worried that the hammering could bring down so recommended that I didn't board until I was ready to have the ceiling renewed. As it turned out they weren't being over cautious. My living room ceiling (lathe and plaster) partially collapsed while there was a lot of thumping going on in the room above during other works!
