Matthew, if Wightman Road and its contiguous rung roads are to be contaminated with so-called "workshops" and "street parties", let them be real practical workshops in which working street parties are trained in the erection of barricades, the laying of ambushes, the mixing and shaking of Molotov cocktails, the manufacture and setting of culvert bombs and footway landmines, the taking out of bridges, and allied useful pursuits. Believe me, by the time LBH Traffic Studies, Network Rail WR Bridge Reinforcers, London Concrete etc have finished mucking us around, we'll be glad we laid our modest foundations for suitable Welcoming Parties.
All those years ago when we wanted a bus route on Wightman Rd I think we missed a trick not asking them to slightly alter the 184.
Right John, that looks like a great but simple switch. I could do my shopping at Waitrose or Morrisons - or occasionally visit my old flame at Hadley Road, all by the 184. This could be a new lease of life for me. All we need do now is make the barricades 184-friendly and supply drivers with a culvert-bomb/landmine map. I am amazed that Catherine West failed to raise this in yesterday's Commons debate on the TfL Bill.
