Free quinces!

My mums quince tree has had a very productive year, and has grown more quinces than even this membrillo-mad family can consume.
I've got three pounds of quinces to give away - either all in one go - or a few at a time, whatever you fancy.
What to do with them? Stewed quinces and apples are nice, and I can recommend roast pork with quinces too, and lamb tagine made with quinces...

Collect from Hampden Road, mosque end.

This quince recipe is lovely - I didn't do the ginger biscuit addition but dare say that would be good too. For more, if you search Nigel Slater quince he has lots to say.

Josephine, thank you so much for posting the recipe. We've just eaten it and it was fantastic. I had some missing ingredients so substituted a little mixed spice for the cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla extract rather than the vanilla pod but it still worked really well. Top tip, take it out of the oven as soon as it's done, the orange syrup goes to a spoonful or two if you leave it in the heat. The crushed ginger biscuits really made it, stopped the marscapone from being too rich.
