....any more disappointed customers lately? I noticed today that the hot drinks have not only gone-up in price but shrunk in size. Maybe it's more Costa if only having a cuppa....

Can't say fairer than that. On a personal level ethical is high on my agenda when it comes to dining so I'm certainly not complaining about the development, but it seems like your recent issue was one of marketing more than anything else. This is as you say a slight change of direction from the Cafe Lemon in most people's heads (and again, I'm not saying this is a bad thing) so perhaps the price rises just didn't make sense without contect.
Personally I will now be MORE likely to visit Cafe Lemon because free range has become not just a preference but a necessity to me, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
Cem, three cheers for your very full response. As I was one of those most critical of your staff during August (added to my quibbles some years ago about tea and breakfast ingredients), I am very glad to see you are taking such positive action - and I'm particularly delighted to hear that Baldwin Free range Breakfast is on the menu. I'll certainly give it a try within the next week.

I really appreciate you coming forth and speaking up- total credit to you
Im so into supporting local businesses, and its great to have a name to the brand- was it really as far back as 2004 when you opened,(with another similar cafe opening next to you about the same time, but it shut down after about 1y) i thought it was only about 5y ago. how time flys
so anyhow, as long as you are endeavoring to look after us locals, i will endeavor to support your business
So I used to be a regular customer of Cafe Lemon because I liked the music and art.
I never had any complaints with the food but the service was terrible on every single occasion.
The waitresses used to just plonk my food on the table and leave without allowing me to point out there wasn't any cutlery or the sauces I wanted so I would always invariably have to get up after failing to attract their attention to ask for these things.
Several times I complained about this and all I got was excuses like their wasn't enough cutlery jars to put on all the tables or enough sauces.
On the last occasion I asked for the service charge to be deducted form my bill as i wasn't going to pay for something I hadn't received, this almost ended in an argument as the girl on the till couldn't understand what I meant saying no charge is made for service until i asked her if she worked for nothing.
Eventually a discount was made but I never returned.
If as the owner states he has made some changes maybe one day I might try.
Was working in Harringay today so thought I'd give Café Lemon's new organic fry up a try. the place looks nice and welcoming but.....loud music while I'm chillaxing over lunch is not my thing, and I've decided I'm fed up asking for it to be turned down so went elsewhere.
music should never be intrusive I changed my hairdresser for the same reason apart from annoying most people, it must surely do damage to staff?
