I live at the top of Allison rd and for the last year have had Two cats visiting my garden independently. One is a beautiful long haired ginger cat I think elderly. The other is a sparky little Black and White cat about 18months old. I have seen neither of them in my back garden for over 8 weeks now and am wondering what has happened to them. The owner of the black and white one came knocking today and says it is her fathers cat who lives at the top end of Hewitt rd that backs onto my garden and asked if I had seen it. Im worried perhaps the foxes may have got either of them. I don't let my little tortie out of the house after about 8pm for that very reason. If you know or have seen the ginger or black and white cats at the top of hewitt/allison rd I would love to know. Just want to make sure they're safe. I also have the balck and white cats owners phone number if you find him.

Hi Lizzie. Well done for flagging this up, hopefully it will get a response. I agree with you that keeping a cat inside at night reduces the risk of it getting lost or injured.
If it helps, please pass on the following advice to the owner of the missing black and white cat, if the cat is still missing.
They could start a new post on here and attach a good close up photo of the cat and mention that lost from Hewitt Rd. Hopefully the cat is microchipped and neutered.
If the cat is microchipped, they should call the microchip company, tell them the cat is missing and check that they have the owner's correct up to date contact details.
If the cat is not microchipped, notify local vets and local rescue places and give them details/good photo of the cat's face in case the cat is handed in. Unfortunately if a stray or lost unmicrochipped cat ends up at the RSPCA, it is likely to be put down, that's one of the many reasons why microchipping (and neutering) is so important.
It often helps to empty some contents of the hoover outside the home (or put out something which has the cat's scent) as the cat will recognise scent even if quite far away. Flyers are useful, including roads with gardens backing on to their garden. The cat may have got trapped in someone's house or shed by mistake.
It's also a good idea to put details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk with a good close up photo and it's free to do that.
They can also register a lost pet on www.petslocated.com (costs £12)
There are also good tips on finding a lost cat on here www.stokeycatsanddogs.co.uk
(As for the ginger cat, if you happen to have a photo, it's worth adding it to your post, as someone might recognise the cat and confirm it's ok).
Thanks this is all great info. Ill try and pass it along. I was upset to find a gelatinous lump of bone in my back garden yesterday. Didnt look like a cooked bone taken out of a bin. But a raw bit of bone with some flesh on it. there was no fur. I know I have fox visitors at night. they have dug large holes under the fence to my neighbours and stuff is moved around over night. Sometimes my garden reeks of fox poo. I have watered Scoot around the garden to hopefully deter them but i don't think its very effective. Ive seen a very large fox around in the last 6 months. He looks beautifully healthy and a good size. Im very torn I really like the urban fox and am thrilled when i see them, but i really love my cat and other cats and am nervous they may be providing meals for the foxes.
Oooh I dont know but Ill forward the picture onto the lady and see if she thinks its him. That black smudge on his nose is quite distinctive. Its been such along time since ive seen him its hard to remember his markings now. Thank you SOO much for taking a photo. Lets hope it his him and he can go home soon. thank you again xxx
thanks ever so much. Ive forwarded it on to the owner but have heard nothing. Does he look well fed? x
