I wish there was noise police following them!
Quite.
Helicopters are very useful in catching serious criminals.
Helicopters are noisy.
I would rather put up with the occasional bit of noise ( when was the last time ? ) than let scumbags go free.
Follow @NPASLondon on Twitter and it tweets the helicopters operations.

1830: Another vehicle pursuit over @MPSEnfield. Vehicle stolen, suspects decamped and detained.
1730: Assisted with a vehicle stop in N11. Suspect detained for outstanding burglary offences.
It was later than that. I wondered if it was part of the day of action on Duckett's Common.
We had the heli pass over at the the top of Hewitt going east-west three or four times.
You could pretty much guarantee that @MPSintheSky would have info on any helicopter activity you'd hear. When I went to look yesterday, I saw that it seems to have been killed off and replaced with @NPASLondon. The new account appears to be much less active that the old one and doesn't look like it covers all activity.
This story in the Guardian last year may explain the demise of @MPSintheSKy.
..........and the latest I can find on the change from The Indy in April.

was hovering over turnpike station where there was about 4 police cars with a few guys lined up along the wall by the wellington pub
That'll be Michael Macintyre in town with three mates.
But seriously, thanks Sydney. It sounds like you pinpointed the trouble point. I imagine what the rest of us heard was the helicopter tracking down others from the same group who'd got away.
