I can if you can afford more than you may expect. I saw a specialist and half a dozen sessions over the space of a year cost me £1500. But she has stabilised my problem - which was caused by my neglect, not flossing for years. It was that or lose four teeth now and more later. I figured it was worth it and just had a lump of redundancy cash so it was a fairly easy decision.
I was referred by my own NHS dentist so you may have to do that. PM me for her details if you want. She works in Hornsey near Priory Park.
I don't know if it may be possible to get some help by one of the teaching hospitals for less?
Hello Pamish,
Many thanks for your quick response.
Could you please let me have this specialist contact details?
Thanks.
hi there, could you give me the details of your periodontist please? i need to see someone pretty urgently.
thanks
Anton
The scary treatment - debridement- is really just exaggerated hygenist work - deep cleaning all round and under your teeth. Eek - but they use anaesthetics first. It seems to have helped with my neglected gums, at least for a while. A lifetime of not flossing so it was all my fault. Most lost teeth are down to gum disease not caries. I see a bright future for the gum specialists and hygenists.
I just looked up debridement to check I had the right word. It goes beyond teeth, its the surgical removal of any dead tissue. There are videos on youtube....
