Our poor Henry Hoover packed up the other day - it's only a few years old so I think it should be fix-able...does anyone know of a hoover repairer/engineer that they could put me in touch with please? Many thanks in advance!

There used to be a repair shop at the top of Middle Lane N8, not sure if it's still there, London KBE in Lordship Lane N22 also. You can get some parts from the electrical place in the Market Hall Wood Green SC.
Most faults on vacuum cleaners are hair or cotton in the rollers, or the mains cord has fatigued where it goes into the machine, both are very simple repairs.
When mine conked, it was a broken contact in the mechanism that allows the flex reel to maintain connection with the motor. I bought a new part online from e-spares. Quite easy to do in fact. No special tools needed. Just a screwdriver I think.
