Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Do you know Nola, Mila and Lola?
At a night out recently chatting to other ladder folk we discussed the potential estate agent rebranding of the ladder roads given that it's become a popular area and now people actually want to live here as opposed to priced out of other areas.
I didn't think this up, but thought it quite neat, and nicer than boring 'crouch end borders' or Finsbury park heights whatever.. :
I admit to being bored with 'cosmopolitan green lanes' ...and will always be amused by 'quite' streets.
Nola (north ladder)
Mila (middle ladder)
and Lola (lower ladder)
no Hula sadly

Harringay Village was used a bit a few years ago by estates agents but didn't catch on. Can't understand it as we have the village green (Ducketts Common).
To have the true New York neighbourhood styling shouldn't it be NoLa, MiLa and SoLa so they can advertise "A charming NoLa loft apartment (attic bedsit)"
Upper Ladder would be UpLa, which sounds quite jolly.

Harringay village is not urban enough imho. I can imagine being quite disappointed if you expect a village and come to Green Lanes... not really what i imagine a village to be.
I'm pretty sure Harringay Heights was tried a while ago too..(for the middle roads)

I'm for sticking with the name we were born with - good plain honest Harringay - no need for rebranding as far as I'm concerned; there's been enough messing with our neighbourhood name as it is.
