Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Some time ago, I promised to give updates on the bridge regeneration after talking to Paul Dever
Property and Capital Projects, Haringey Council .I can't find the original thread, but this is what he had to say in his latest update from a case of beaurocracy that one has to go through to achieve results:

" I am conscious that I have not yet updated you in regards to the Harringay Green Lanes Overground bridge and entrance works, noting my earlier email that suggested we may complete the works in February 2015.

As you will have gathered, there have been some delays in starting the works. This has been a consequence of the later than planned submission of the final design gateway approval to Network Rail. The approval has now been submitted, and we are expecting a response from Network Rail shortly.

In the interim, the selected contractor has been instructed to place critical path orders and mobilise to commence the works by the end of March 2015. They will not however be able to proceed with any works on the bridge until the formal approval has been received.

I will update you further later in the month. However if you have any questions or queries in the interim please don't hesitate to contact me"

Pav you would add more soul and spend less money by getting all those satellite dishes taken down that blight that part of Harringay.

I refuse to even touch the place because of it. Totally depressing!

What are they going to do to the bridge ? Last I read, some time ago, it was going to be video screens.

Thanks pav

Well this is good news. I can support the project manager in that getting anything done with Network Rail takes an age. TfL/LOROL have been trying to get Overground roundels attached to a bridge outside Leyton Midland Road station for a couple of years now.

I will contact LOROL and try to find out what changes are to be made to the station.

I'm not aware of any works to Green Lanes bridge or the station and I don't think LOROL is either! I suppose Network Rail might tell them originally. BGORUG would rather see the bridge used to advertise the rail service. TfL were supposed to be putting Overground roundel signs on the bridges, but after Leytonstone High Road and Gospel Oak they seem to have lost interest.

I shall ask LOROL if they know anything. The new entrance and "Access for All" lifts are making slow but steady progress at South Tottenham.
