Yes it's a frequently stated risk, using the phone as you emerge from a tube station. There are parts of Manor House booking hall where you can get a phone signal before you surface, relatively safer there (CCTV etc).
I second this. My other half was a target in this location (though he heroically fought the little scoundrel off - this one was on a pushbike) and it does seem to be a hotspot. This is true of all transport hubs, of course.
It happened to me a few weeks ago while waiting for the bus right outside the station.
The police officer who helped me with the report mentioned its happening more and more often, particularly when we are not paying attention by being engrossed on our mobiles.
My telephone has never been snatched from our hallway console table. I hope this helps.
