Hello Harringay!
I'm Matt, I opened But First Coffee only 2 months ago - it's my first business, and the product of a lifelong ambition to have my own cafe. I have worked in hospitality for over 15 years, but never imagined that I would be able to one day have a place to call my own. This makes me hugely proud of my little space - and I've wanted to get it perfect before introducing myself, so apologies for the late hello!
Located just by Harringay train station on Quernmore Road, N4, we are a little haven away from the hustle and bustle of central Crouch End, Green Lanes and Stroud Green. Open 7 days a week, we have a beautiful selection of gourmet pastries, amazing fresh coffee from Ozone and a lovely space to gently wake up or chat with neighbours before starting the trek to work.
At weekends we take it down a notch and offer a great brunch menu. We make our own waffles, there's organic soughdough or brioche doorstep toast with preserves or honeycomb, wonderful organic granola with home made berry compote and greek yoghurt, crumpets, hot crossed buns....... you must give it a try!
As it's only me that works here currently, we are open from 6.30am-1pm weekdays, 9am-1pm weekends - this will change as we grow and can be in the position to employ staff, open longer and offer more products.
I wanted to create a place that I would like to visit - a perfect pitstop with amazing coffee to meet friends, fuel for the day ahead or relax quietly with the papers. Hopefully you to will love it, I hope to see you all soon.
