Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

a gas leak, tonsilitis, gout at its worst  - what a lousy week I've had- now I can't find one of the few pieces of jewelry I have left   or should I say 'had left'?   I wore them at the beginning of the week but where are they now?   not in a pocket or a handbag, not on the whatnot where they usually rest until I put them away    I've had people in and out all week and now no ear-rings   I've reported it to my insurance company and to the police who say it can't be considered a crime as I don;t know who could have taken them or when     any suggestions?

I'm the local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator   how can I tell other people to take great care when my property just disappears into thin air?

As they say Sally, they'll be in the last place you look.

Yy Michael.

Retrace your steps. Which day did you last wear them and what was happening that day?

On a more serious note Sally I am a chronic misplacer and I often find things I didn't even know I'd lost when I'm cleaning. I once found a set of keys I'd turned the house upside down to try and find being used as a bookmark (I did it, no one else was to blame)!

Sally I lost a laptop for over six months until very recently. I even had a police crime report and a visit from the victims support unit. I had left the front door open and thought the laptop was on the stairs, while I went in and out watering plants. I've been giving the evil side-eye to the two dodgy lads who walk their dog up and down the street in a very shifty manner the whole time.
Well of course I found it when I had a big clear out, in the place I had hidden it before I went on holiday.
Suddenly the two lads look like friendly chaps walking some elderly relative's dog as a favour now. I almost feel I need to apologise to them.
Hope your jewellery turns up soon :)

Julia: thanks for your contribution   it is so easy to misplace isn't it?    I had great pleasure in contacting the police and my ins.co to let them know that my ear-rings have reappeared   I had carefully examined all pockets but must have put them in a trousers pocket, then they had fallen into my shoes where my daughter's nanny found them yesterday    I had 2 burglaries a couple of years ago and didn't replace my good jewelry  but what I wear is still of value to me   happy hunting, fellow haronliners!!!
