Removed from electoral register?

A couple of months ago, we got the forms asking us to re-register on the Electoral Register online, which we did. We then, (my partner and I) a few weeks later I think, received (multiple!) emails to say that this had been successful.
Today we received a letter each saying that we have been removed from the electoral register! What a bloody shambles!
Obviously I will call them first thing Monday morning, but wondered if anyone else had a similar experience?

As well as the electoral register there is also a separate "Open Register" which is used by the government to sell information from the electoral register for commercial gain, make sure which is referred to in your letter as this can cause confusion.

Thanks for that Maggie. However, our letters do not mention the open register. This is what they say "I'm writing to let you know that your entry in the electoral register for this address has been removed. You don't need to do anything else, unless you should be registered at this address. In this case please contact us…bla bla bla'.
