Save Our Sorting Office
Royal Mail will close our Tottenham Lane Sorting Office in September and move it to Caledonian Road at least 1 hour each way by public transport.

SAVE LOCAL POSTMEN’S JOBS
Anyone affected by this closure please consider signing Lynne Featherstone MP's petition.
No one else appears to be doing anything to retain a local sorting office.

That's a Wordpress subscribe link, Lesley. So I'm wondering if there's a little disingenuousness going on here. Signing this 'petition', as far as I can see, is signing up to subscribe to Lynne Featherstone's mailing list. Or do I have that wrong?
And, are you sure that new sorting office is not planned for Tufnell Park, where the N4 office moved to? I thought they were all being co-located.
I know our MP asks for info but no need to provide or subscribe and unfortunately, so far, she is only one doing anything. Our new Labour councillors / Hornsey Labour have, so far, not even mentioned this issue so leaves little choice.
I have no reason to doubt the relocation area - that is what was on the cards when last raised many months ago.
Of course it would help if Royal Mail communicated with customers - which they have not so far.
Hugh you are right.
People in the know said mentioned MP knew of the closure last year and didn't do a thing about it.
The delivery office will be closing on September twenty second.
I suggest you try it by public transport and report back. It is NOT a convenient or easy to reach place.
That's what TfL website states for journey from High Street Hornsey (not my house which adds more time) to the N19 location. It is not near a Tube station and needs at least 2 buses. i can walk to Tottenham Lane. A considerable difference.
Actually Lynne Featherstone did do something last year - a petition and campaign which got a stay of execution for many months. Interesting that you know date of closure yet MP does not and RM have completely failed to engage with those of us affected by this.
Hmm, I contacted Ms Featherstone a couple of weeks ago after the local postie said it was closing. She contacted her 'contact' at RM who denied any closure. Go figure!
That is exactly what she is saying having been promised last time that they WOULD advise her if this came up again. She had to wait to be told by someone leaking the info to her. RM more interested in who leaked than the issue at hand.
