Parking bay suspensions for carriageway drain cleaning

It's the same date and time on Effingham and Fairfax.

Thanks Sue. I wonder where LBH thinks 3 street worth of cars are going to parked that day?

The sign also says no parking within 5m of gullies - I assume they are the grating things your keys etc fall down into?

Yeah....we were thinking the same thing too!! It's pretty rubbish that all 3 streets are being done at the same time but I guess it must be one days work so they are trying to do it economically....I won't be seeing it quite so rationally next Tuesday morning though ;-)

Is it the whole street? On Seymour (which is being done on 9th) it looked as though it was just particular bays, but maybe I read the sign wrongly.

On edit: sign says "please don't park within 5 metres of gullies." So I would have thought it just means not to park near gullies rather than parking suspension for whole street?

Yes - Effingham Rd signs say park at least 5m away from gullies but I don't understand what this actually means as I don't know what gullies are - do they mean the drain covers?

In the road I live in in Muswell Hill everyone moved theior cars when the signs went up but nobody came to clean the drains so when the next sign went up nobody moved ther cars.

I have seen signs posted all over the area and not once have I seen a drain being cleaned - but I have seen parking tickets given even when there was no drain cleaning contractor in sight.

I do hope the Council are not paying somone to just put up signs because so far as I can see no drains have been cleaned.
