Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This place has caught my eye with ads on the Tube. Seems a bit steep at £12 a throw and maybe a tourist fleecing activity. Anyone got any feedback about this?

I've been birdwatching with my Dad there. It's really lovely and a full day out (especially if you like sitting in hides). Here, for example is the blog for wildlife sightings for today. I'd go more often but its a bit of a haul. Go on a week day when there's fewer people about.

I used to live in Barnes years ago and regularly enjoyed visits to the Wetlands Centre. Haven't been for years, but I assume it's improved year to year as it attracts more birds since it was first developed. If you like birds, you'll like the Wetlands Centre. Plus Barnes is a lovely place to visit as well!

It's also great for kids - with activities at the main centre, pond dipping just about every day, otter feeding & an imaginative playground (with loads of tunnels).

We decided to upgrade to the family membership, so we can go as often as we want for a year.

It's just a short bus ride from Hammersmith tube too (the bus goes right to the entrance).

thanks for helpful replies. It did get good reviews on Tripadvisor and looks like somewhere I'll be going very soon!

I go there about once a year, and think it's a wonderful place (if you like birds obviously). It attracts an impressive number and variety of birds, it's well-laid out, with clear information and a nice cafe. But it isn't cheap and isn't quick to get to from Haringey. If you like birdwatching especially waterfowl, you could try the RSPB reserve at Rye Meads--smaller, closer and free.

Very interesting. Didn't know about this one. Will def give it a whirl. Thanks for info

My friend got married there - its a lovely wedding venue.  The service took place in  one of the big one of the viewing rooms overlooking the lake
