Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

http://youtu.be/onKO1VvWv1U  It begins, we painted the town red.

A very wobbly video from 6 a m this morning of Claire Kober's speech to the residue of people at Ally Pally  following what was indeed a triumphant night for Haringey Labour.

Apols for quality, you can hear what she's saying even as it wobbles about, and even as the sound bounces off the distant ceiling and walls. If anyone wants to transcribe it, I will attempt to add captions.

Details of all votes are on this LBH page.

I hope someone somewhere is adding up all the votes, as I want to know the cross-borough popular vote ie all the totals. I think the Greens may have come second, overall.

Interesting, thanks. Got a better system?

Still reckon Greens came second in the Tottenham half.

So who is the twirling, preening, nodding donkey in the front row?

I think that's Adam Jogee, Hornsey Ward.

And, play nice, Phil. You don't even seem to know who the chap is. Give him a chance and criticise him for what he does or doesn't do, rather than your issues with what he looks like.

Thanks Phil. I'm quite sure that your sharp political analysis will be widely appreciated.

He's very aware of and plays to the camera : no doubt we'll get to know him better via Haringey People

He'd been up all night and was running in a seat he needed to take from the LibDems. Give him a break.

Have just retured from my first attempt at re-emigration. Amazed and shocked to hear that the preening, twirling, nodding donkey (strictly industrial allusion) is an elected councillor. I'm off again. I trust Nigella Farrago will pay my repatriation costs.

The lad was OK, his first election. I was a bit disgusted by some of the triumphalism from the oldies. I'll have a look through some other videos to show the world.  Some good people lost their jobs last night and crowing about it does look rather crass.  Surely most of the swing came from national politics, not an endorsement of LBH to date, though for sure everybody had worked really hard these past few weeks - all sides.

Morning Pam!

Agree with all you say. However not all couth has deserted local Labour Party representatives. One long-time Labour Councillor took the trouble to seek me out and congratulate me as did one unsuccesfull Labour candidate. In both examples they were gentlemen and scholars. And you too Pam were kind enough to approach likewise. Some good people were indeed cast aside in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Clive, I missed your result before taking off for Ireland for the long weekend. Hearty congratulations on a well-deserved win. Great pity that your team has lost so much strength in depth compared to last eight years. Lions led by Coalition's nodding donkeys.

Many thanks Eddie.

It's been a tiring business for all concerned. On the streets we would often bump into our honourable Highgate opponents. And we would swap boasts as to who had the harder slave drivers!
