Yes, its a shame, though to be clear - its not "my" bollard. Will be interesting to see when they replace it if they put that one back or install a boring black and white one without all the art work from local children.

That is quite cool. Perhaps we can organise for the folks doing this to have a key to be able to lock all the open ones they find along the way!

Ant, I take your point about realistically expecting the answer 'No'.  Although at least it's an answer. Looking back over the years I realise that many of my suggestions never got any answer.  Haringey didn't invent "The Law of Delay".  But it's easy to think that it did.  As C. Northcote Parkinson points out, the trick is for bureaucracy to delay things just long enough for nothing to happen. Often with phrases like: "in due course"; or 'When the time is ripe'; or 'when there is budgetary provision'.

But telecoms companies have money. So rather than negotiate each time with the man who services the boxes - how about seeing if the company would, perhaps, sponsor a scheme?  Maybe Collage Arts could help broker this?
