Just to let everyone know that the council are proposing new tree planting along the Ladder roads. This is scheduled to start on Monday 24th March. There should be in the region of 76 new trees across the Ladder.
This is great news as some of our trees where lost to disease last year - it is great to have confirmation that more trees are now being planted.
(OK, the photo is of one of my trees but its the best photo of a tree I have!)

And isn't it lovely to see the masses of blossom currently on display ?
Also the budget was only for 50 trees some months back, so great news this has increased to 76.
I know Thérèse, because I engage with the council.
I've been asking for new trees for Falkland Road since the last planting season a year ago. Falkland Road, especially the Green Lanes end, has in my observation the least number of trees on the Ladder.
This allocation won't I'm afraid. Trees are allocated during the planting season at a Ward level. You'll need to check with the council when your Ward is next due. If you're in the Seven Sisters Ward, the planting has been delayed until next winter due to the persistent wet weather and storms we have had.
Not sure, just what the council told me.
By the way, they're not "spending up", it just coincides with the planting season.
An easy way to tell is there will be the letter "T" painted on the pavement. The planting area will be between terraces.
