Here: Council to invest in extra local police officers
I was awaiting further responses to the questions posed but then realised it has been closed.

Nope, he didn't close it. It got all Red Gang, Yellow Gang political so it was closed.
Party politicking ends up pretty idiotic so in my experience gets frowned upon and "closed". Politics on the other hand is encouraged.
Right wing bias?
Let me get you your hat too, Phil.
I closed the post having just deleted an overtly party political Lib Dem post. I came across James Ryan's post at the same time, didn't have the time to read it, closed in in the interim in the interests of fairness and meant to come back to it.
Thanks for the bleats and assumptions about censorship and bias.
However, to give you fair warning, for about two months prior to 22nd May, there's going to be a strict and remoreselessly enforced policy about party political postings. Folks can bleat all they like about censorship and bias, but my skin has thickened to such jibes over the years. This site wasn't ever meant to be dominated by local politics or for the politically highly engaged minority to battle it out.
My belief is that while a modicum of that is of interest, most people who are using HoL don't want it taken over by politics. I know what happened in 2010. I have the analytics and I'm taking my learning from that.
I'm not quite sure what the policy should say, but would welcome some suggestions.
Phil, believe me, it gets unpleasant and puts people off. (You see I get to witness the fallout of what happens on HoL. For example, you probably weren't aware that two people quit their membership over that gay house share post)
So, from my experience it's not worth just letting it all happen once every four years. It sets a tone and puts people off who never come back.
Good on your for keeping it open despite that Hugh. A couple of years ago I had a young cousin back in NZ quietly defriend me on Facebook after I hauled him up for using the term "gay" pejoratively in a post.
I was planning to smuggle in some political jokes. Like these repurposed Tommy Cooper classics:
Did I just hear the slamming of virtual doors as half-a-dozen outraged Tommy Cooper fans left the site?
