What a fine set of teams!
— Clive Carter
Prospective Councillor Candidate
Highgate Ward
Hugh, take a good look at these names and mark them well.
IMO this is possibly the best range of talent offered to voters in the Borough of Haringey since 1965: diverse and brim-full of youth, vigour and vitality – able, ready and willing to improve the lives of residents.
;-)
But Clive, which party did Brian Haley represent in 1965?
WITH a line-up totaling 32, like you Hugh, I don't know all of them equally well.
I will respectfully decline any invitation to make an exception of myself (!) and still less, except Turhan Ozen (PPC for Tottenham) who features in the photo above, between Deputy Leader Katherine Reece & Leader Richard Wilson.
It is of course, the overall team that counts.
Yes, the overall team counts, but one votes for individuals. I'm going to assume that that you have the good grace to decline a without exception endorsement.
Have any of the candidates changed wards since 2010?
Hi Hugh,
I stood in Noel Park in 2010 but actually live in Muswell Hill so and standing in the ward in which I live.
Well, David Lammy practically lives in Highgate at the very heart of Tottenham. So why can't Railway West be the omphalos or even the armpit of Highgate?
Nicholas, Stroud Green and Highgate are much closer than you think. In my 'commute', I consider myself perhaps the most fortunate councillor candidate in London: I make use of what I think of as a secret tunnel:
The Parkland Walk directly connects the centre of Stroud Green to the centre of Highgate: as a former railway line – and now a linear park – it's almost a straight line on a slight incline. I cycle along this traffic-free, bucolic route in minutes.
