Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Your local Labour councillor Gina Adamou and the Labour Action Team have been campaigning to have the pavement in Lausanne Road replaced.

Working with Haringey Council, we are delighted to report that the pavement will be replaced. The work is scheduled to take place between 2nd December 2013 and 10th January 2014 though residents and businesses will be notified by Haringey Council, 7 - 10 days in advance of the specific date of the works.

Agreed.

No parking on the whole street over the Xmas break is just daft. Can't be difficult to plan a week (or 2 at the most) worth of work at a time.

Hi All

Cllr Gina Adamou has just confirmed that Parking will not be suspended along the entire road.

Parking will only be suspended in 50 metre sections where the footway is closed due to the works.

They will need to change the signs because at the moment there are signs all along the road saying that parking is suspended for one month from today

Looks like they have now removed the signs where they are not working.

Thanks for sorting this out.

Olly

I can confirm that the head of the transport service has written to me that,

"I confirm that parking suspensions will be in operation to execute this work. We will not however prohibit parking along the entire length of the road for the duration of the work. To minimise the impact to residents our contractor has been instructed to only close off 50m sections of footway at any one time. Parking suspensions will only be in place where the footway has been closed."

I hate to do you out of a job or anything but.... "The Head of the Transport Service" should join HoL and post stuff like that themselves...

I agree.  It would be good if Haringey used HoL to let people know about local issues in addition to the other channels they use.  Only takes a few seconds.

Haringey comms people - I assume you look at this site, (you'd be really missing out if you didn't) any chance of taking this up?

Thanks David, appreciate the follow up.  Work seems to be progressing quite fast.

I agree which is a good thing as long as it is done well.  We have a tree in front of our house and it took many goes to stop a big puddle forming in front of our gate when we moved in.

Does anyone know how we set up a group for our road?  It would be good to have one for Lausanne Road Residents like some of the other roads have.

Is there a specific date for this yet?  Any idea how long it will take?

Michelle
