Our kids have grown up on the stuff! Cheddar cheese is almost foreign And then there's the fresh pitta (and many other breads), houmous, tzatziki, olives galore ...
We all know how lucky we are living here went it comes to local food shopping & restaurants.
PS. If you do want a change from Turkish food locally, drop into Jam in a Jar (on Green Lanes, betw Effingham & Beresford Rds. Quto (the young Turkish owner) and the kitchen's Brazilian chef produce delicious food from a great menu. There are influences from all over the globe. The calamari is to die for & I've heard great things about their burgers too. I say this because we ate there Friday night - wonderful!

Yum. Mighty fine vegetarian alternative to bacon I find, too.
I'm half Greek so I've been eating it since I was tiny. Yum, yum, YUM! :)
Definitely heaven for vegetarians or even those folk that choose not to eat much meat. Delicious!
Reckon I first eat it fried in about 1975! Terrific!
