Even though uniform is sold quite cheaply in many chain stores and most schools have generic colour schemes, finding the extra money to kit out your soon-to-be-a-secondary school pupil may still be difficult if money is tight.
If you, or someone you know, is dreading finding the cash to kit out your child for September, here's how you can get a one off grant to help with costs.
One off grants may be available of £60 if you get one of the benefits, shown below, or NASS support and your child is transferring to a secondary in September 2013 at age 11:
You do not need to submit evidence of the above benefit or NASS support that you get as they will check centrally if you qualify.
