Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dear Harringay Online, I'm so sorry, I forgot your birthday........

Oh well, I guess it's inevitable that my virtual life should mirror my real one pretty closely. Forgotten birthday's here and forgotten birthdays there.

Well anyway, I always try and convince my self that the better late than never maxim holds true in these cases (often with little success).

So, our site is one year old. It was set up at the end of June 2007 and had it's first member on 1st July. Happy Birthday HoL. Let's make the July 15th drinks a birthday bash.

Looking ahead and looking forward, any comments on what's worked well, what hasn't? Any ideas on where we should take things through the second year?

Many happy returns!
The first year of a life is usually all about growing, the second year about learning and often involves quite a lot of falling down. Looking forward to seeing the site developing further and finding out how revolutionary we really can be.
Happy Birthday to HoL!

More action off-line me thinks stemming of course from on-line conversation.
Second that.
HOL shares its birthday with my Guyanese mother-in-law who managed to forget her 80th the other day. May HOL still be setting our little world to rights on its 80th, and may I look forward to a full frontal centrefold of the Birthday Party, hosted by a full complement of Cabinet Members, in the July 2087 issue of HP? (saucy, what!)
Many happy returns to HOL and Eddies mother-in-law : )
Thanks Birdy. I'll pass 'em on.
Happy Birthday HoL. Thanks for being here, looking forward to watching you grow up!
"A little less conversation, a little more action" Elvis Presley. Happy birthday.
So, what do you think is the best way to make this happen Ruthe?
I think things are starting to happen already. How many member are there now? Over 700? There was only just over 300 when I joined in Feb - 4 months ago - its doubled. The one year old has had a rapid growth spurt and will get bigger I think. The pettition could never have been organised so quickly I believe, without this site. Having got to know more of my neighbours than ever before it means that when I do get involved with local issues, I'm not talking to strangers about strangers cos some of them are now my friends.
Out of interest, who was the first member? I think I joined around August time when we got those invitation to join slips through the letterbox!

(did you canvas all of the Harringay roads Hugh?)
I'm guessing the first member was Hugh. :)
