Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On a shorter-than-I-would-have-liked visit to the Fountayne Warehouse District Open Day yesterday, I came across these remaindered hands. They come from what I think can justifiably be described as a national, if not international, art icon. Out of one of the Fountayne Road warehouses, they should carry the "Made in Tottenham" logo (if there were one).

Recognise 'em?

More on the Open Day soon.

Are they Spainish goal keepers gloves ?

The technique looks similar to the wooden horse in Chestnuts Park.

I don't know if they did that, but they have done installations in a surprising number of cities across the globe.

The horse in Chestnuts Park was done by Anne Carrington. More on it from Alan Stanton's Flickrblog here

Thanks for giving the link, Liz.

Anne Carrington's Skeleton Horse of Tottenham is one of my local favourites, so I'm pleased if more people enjoy seeing it. They might be surprised to get close and see how it's made.

For new visitors to Chestnuts Park, don't miss the musical garden.

P.S. If anyone follows my link to Ann Carrington's website please read about Mrs Booth  one of her "Shell Ladies". Named after Sophie Booth, JMW Turner's landlady and lover.

Oops, Sophia.

Interesting...

Looking forward to your coverage of the saturday event Hugh, I was sadly late but did catch the wrestling match.

Sadly, as things worked out I couldn't get to any of the stage events, but spent a couple of hours wandering around early PM. Will post later in the week.

Were these in the Olympic opening ceremony by any chance, Hugh?

Not to my knowledge. As I said, I didn't recognise them, until I was told - then it seemed obvious.
