The following responses were given to a question asked on our chat feature (Folkmoot) yesterday about Hi Tech garge on West Green Road in West Green:

I had a wee bit of work done there and they seemed very friendly, did the job and charged reasonably

Personally I'd avoid them. They have ripped us off before. There is a much better one further along called Best Motors (after the road splits after the green). The receptionist there used to work at Hi Tech and left because she didn't like they way they ripped off customers.

I've used Andover Motors in Finsbury Park for years. They are very honest and competent.

I use Daytona Garage on Vale road, very good and great value, cheap for new tyres too

I found Manos (Corner of Green lanes & Mattison road) here on HoL. I've used him for two years and wouldn't think of using anyone else. He's putting my car through MOT next week. His number: 02083484554

Hi there - I would agree with comments about HITECH, whilst they do the job you have to watch them and check prices - I've had quite a bit of work done there on a van and car and it is worth checking prices! - and they are good at being friendly and helpful and you pay for it!!

The only reason I used them is because my own garage DALY TYRES on Lordship Lane who are brilliant got me to go there to do the MOT as they don't do them and they kinda swizzed me into getting my car and van done there(not much camaraderie there!!!!) with all sorts of 'add on they were willing to offer. As can be expected DAILY TYRES DONT SUGGEST THEM FOR MOT'S any longer!

I now keep doing my MOT's separate from garages cos you never know what they will add on to get the work! no more said!!!! I have a great MOT place on Pretoria Road off White Heart Lane if anyone's interested!!!!-
